Mady Dewey is 'Jumping For Joy' After 'Sports Illustrated' Swim Search News

Mady Dewey can now add 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie to her resume and she's super excited about it.

The young model took to social media to share the news that she had officially been named a 2023 rookie for the publication–a title she achieved by participating in the 2022 SI Swim Search.

In a photo she shared to Instagram, the model playfully posed beside a shoreline of turquoise waves in a green two-piece swimsuit. Dewey celebrated her accomplishments with a heartfelt caption.

"Screaming. Crying. Jumping for joy," she wrote.

"I’m honored to share I’m a @si_swimsuit 2023 rookie 🥹😭💖🦋 This is truly a lifelong dream come true!! I’m forever grateful for the entire SI team for believing in me, making me feel so supported and for creating Swim Search in the first place - it has changed my life!"

She then described her journey to becoming a 2023 rookie and how it almost didn't happen. She explained that two years ago, she considered auditioning for the 2020 call for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models but didn't.

"I was too worried about what other people would think, I was silently struggling with my mental health and relationship with food," she recalled.

"What started as a celebration [of] my self-acceptance journey has ended in the most special way; with Camille and the SI team telling me I had been named rookie. LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING 😭."

Dewey continued: "Here’s to going after what you want, embracing yourself exactly as you are, and never letting the opinions of others hold you back. YOU ARE LIMITLESS."

In addition to successfully embarking on a modeling career, Dewey is popular a lifestyle and content creator (with nearly 90,000 followers on TikTok), the co-host of the Socially Well podcast, and a founder of the social media photo-sharing app Herd Social; which aims to be "a space to easily find community in a comparison-free environment."
