The annual pop-up culinary market Mad Sq. Eats has become a much-anticipated part of the summer season. Every year New York City’s best vendors gather next to Madison Square Park to create a cornucopia of indulgences. From Thailand themed bars to Bolivian style burgers, Mad Sq. Eats seems to touch every corner of the NYC food scene. Here are three highlights from this year’s offerings.

Red Hook Lobster Pound

Lobster rolls are synonymous with summer food, so it’s only natural that they’re predominantly featured at Mad Sq. Eats, and Red Hook Lobster Pound is the place to go. Red Hook offers the classic Maine-style lobster roll, served in a buttered roll with house made mayonnaise, paprika, and scallions. Instead of the lobster meat being lost in a sea of sauce, it’s cut into large chunks with just the right amount seasoning. Grab a lemonade and a side of crispy fries, and you’ll be in summertime heaven.

MELT Ice Cream Sandwiches
If you’re looking to escape the heat of the crowd, pick up an ice cream sandwich from MELT and grab a spot at one of the shady tables. Just make sure you don’t miss this stand, as it’s a little smaller than the rest and you could potentially walk right by. You could always go with a classic, chocolate chip walnut cookies with vanilla ice cream sandwiched in between. But if you’re looking for something you can’t get everywhere, try the Mahina. This delectable dessert takes two double chocolate cookies and pairs them with a creamy disc of passion fruit ice cream.

BangKok B.A.R

BangKok B.A.R (Born and Raised) is serving authentic Bangkok-style snacks. The most popular item you’ll see people walking around with is the fresh coconut they crack here. You can take it to go or you can grab a seat at the bar. It’s easy to forget the bustling city behind you while eating authentic braised pork belly buns.

Here’s the complete list of vendors that will be at Mad Sq. Eats until June ninth.
