Machine Gun Kelly and Conor McGregor Nearly Brawled at the VMAs

Ah, celebrities. They're just like us! Showing up to red carpets, moseying around, asking to take pictures with each other. Then, when one celebrity denies posing for a picture with another celebrity, they hurl a drink at their newfound offender. See? Very relatable!

One such beautiful, cordial instance of celebrity life went down at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, which happened Sunday night in New York City. According to a report from TMZ, mixed martial artist Conor McGregor and singer-rapper Machine Gun Kelly were strolling the red carpet in the same general area as each other. McGregor asked for a picture with MGK. He said no. Bad move, apparently. Variety reports that MGK's security pushed McGregor and a skirmish broke out. TMZ added that the fighter, fresh off a loss in UFC 264, threw his drink at Kelly, while Variety added that McGregor yelled "something along the lines of 'that fucking punk punched me.'”

Sounds like a fun night! MGK went on to have (what we're guessing was) a better time than McGregor, winning a VMA for “My Ex’s Best Friend.” McGregor stayed out of trouble for the rest of the night, we think. His rep told Page Six that “Conor only fights fighters,” and that a fight never happened. (Despite the photo evidence suggesting otherwise.) Anyway. There's your scene from celebrity life for the day. If McGregor, for any reason, at any time, wants to take a picture with you, we advise you to go for it. Just a hunch.
