Here's a First Look at the M.A.C. x Aaliyah Makeup Collection
(UPDATE 29, 2018): OK, this is a bit of a twofer because not only did M.A.C. just reveal some more products in the M.A.C. x Aaliyah collection, the brand also brought to my attention an official Aaliyah Instagram account @aaliyah_haughton_official, which until now I wasn't aware was a thing (no verified check yet but it's only a matter of time after this hype).
On top of the eye shadow palette and nude lipstick leaked previously, now there will be a #MACforAaliyah Bronzing Powder, a near-black shade of Lip Glass, and a bright poppy red lipstick. No shade names yet, just the enticing invitation to guess what their names are. I'm going to wager they're probably going to be named after Aaliyah's songs.

It's all a lot of "coming soon" but last we heard, the M.A.C. x Aaliyah collection will officially be available online June 20 before hitting North American stores on June 21, according to the brand. I, for one, am waiting on that Bronzing Powder to be my summer-in-the-city look with some slick sunglasses on top.
(UPDATE April 2, 2018): Last summer M.A.C. teased one of its most hotly anticipated collections ever inspired by late R&B icon Aaliyah — arguably still the reigning queen of shimmery nude lipgloss. As soon as word of the M.A.C. x Aaliyah collection got out, it set the Internet ablaze with excitement and speculations. Now, the first look at the collection is finally here. Today M.A.C. teased the first two products in the future collection — and they are good.
First up, an eye shadow palette with nine shades in various finishes. There's a shimmery dove gray, an inky matte shade, warm plum, muted shimmery ochre, pale caramel, matte hot chocolate, shimmery dark chocolate, dusty mauve, and deep matte brown. Put together, the palette has a moody, sultry sort of vibe (not unlike Aaliyah's best music videos), which is set off by the smoky bronze packaging.
Given Aaliyah's lipgloss supremacy, you know there had to be a spotlight-stealing lip product — and yes, M.A.C. delivered. The second product in the collection is the perfect shade of shimmery caramel.
No word on price or if this is everything in the collection yet, but the M.A.C. x Aaliyah collection will officially be available online June 20 before hitting North American stores on June 21, according to the brand. Mark your calendars.

After years of petitioning to the higher powers of the beauty industry, Aaliyah fans are finally being heard. M.A.C. just announced that a M.A.C. x Aaliyah collection currently in the works — and it's expected to drop summer 2018.
The line, dedicated to the late R&B singer, is currently TBD (details surrounding the collection are minimal, at best), but based on past red carpet photos of the star, we're expecting creamy nude lipsticks and all the lipglass.
"Aaliyah is truly one in a million — an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all," the brand said in a statement. "Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M.A.C. Aaliyah collection. You made it happen!"
And, like clockwork, those dedicated fans are already sounding off on Twitter, showing their love for singer's upcoming M.A.C. collection on Twitter. They. Are. Pumped.
