You can finally get Lysol disinfectant spray at Amazon

While scoring hand sanitizer and household disinfectants has gotten a bit easier — mostly thanks to the abundance of new brands manufacturing their own — the one brand that’s been nearly impossible to find in stock is Lysol.
It’s for good reason: according to a peer-reviewed study published in the American Journal of Infection Control in May, Lysol Disinfectant Spray has a greater than 99.9 percent efficacy rate against SARS-CoV-2. The spray, along with Lysol Disinfectant Max Cover Mist, was approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use against the coronavirus on hard and non-porous surfaces. While over 400 products have been approved by the EPA for use against the human coronavirus and other emerging pathogens, Lysol is the first to be tested directly against SARS-CoV-2, and if used exactly as provided on the label, it works.

Here’s the not-so-great news: The price is inflated (the shipping is $13, which is almost the price of the can), but if you want to get the stuff that actually works, you need to pay top dollar until it’s more readily available. It’s also the first time we saw the spray at Amazon in months, so who knows how long it’ll stick around?
The spray is flying off of Amazon shelves — the “crisp linen” scent is already sold out, as is the “spring waterfall” — so we don’t expect the morning breeze fragrance to be in stock for much longer. Get it before you regret it!
