  • Lynne Spears has filed docs asking to receive special notice on “all matters” pertaining to Britney Spears’ finances.

  • Lynne’s filing comes amid the #FreeBritney movement on social media.

Britney Spears’ mom, Lynne Spears, has filed legal documents in order to be included in her daughter’s finances—specifically in regards to a trust that holds the majority of Britney’s assets. Multiple outlets including Entertainment Tonight and The Blast report that Lynne filed docs to the Los Angeles County Court on Monday, asking to receive special notice on “all matters” pertaining to Britney’s SJB Revocable Trust—and to be included as an “interested person” in any hearings about the trust.

The SJB Revocable Trust was set up in 2004 by Britney in order to protect her money and assets. However, her name was reportedly removed as a trustee when she was placed under conservatorship in 2008, and the court appointed “temporary successors of the trust.”

Lynne’s request for more involvement in the trust comes amid growing concern over the terms of Britney’s conservatorship—especially among fans who have been using the hashtag #FreeBritney. The movement has been gaining more traction thanks to being highlighted by popular Instagram accounts like Saint Hoax:

Back in May 2019, Lynne asked to be notified of all matters pertaining to Britney’s conservatorship, and a source told ET at the time that “her mom has tried at different points over the years to have some sort of say.”

Britney’s conservatorship was recently extended to the end of summer, and a fan petition is circulating to help get Britney her own lawyer.
