Lucy Hale Debuted Blonde Hair

Lucy Hale appears to have borrowed some inspiration from the season's golden foliage for her newest hairdo. The normally brunette actor has lightened her hair into a stunning shade of blonde, and it comes just in time for the seasons to change.

The former Pretty Little Liars star took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal the details of her hair transformation, created by celebrity hairstylist Kristin Ess. She shared a BTS of the entire process, which involved a lot of foils, a Boba tea treat, and some play time with Kristin's adorable dog.

After what Lucy says took "10 and 1/2 hours," she showed off her new ombré strands that fade from deep chestnut into golden brown. Her traditionally dark locks are now toeing the line between blonde and brunette, aka the perfect shade for when you can't choose just one color.

If you're interested in trying this type of look for yourself, there are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to getting the perfect color. An ombré look requires a pretty high-level coloring technique, so this is one dye job we wouldn't recommend attempting a DIY in the kitchen sink with.

To make the coloring last (and to get shine as vivid as Lucy's), integrate Olaplex shampoo and hair masks into your regular hair routine. This will also help protect and moisturize strands that tend to get dried out in the dyeing process. Most importantly, look for shampoos that are sulfate free to really help your color last.
