Lucy Boynton's Venice Film Festival Beauty Is a Study in Playful Makeup

Who says kaleidoscopic, light-refracting makeup moments are limited to Gen-Z adopters? For appearances at the Venice Film Festival, Lucy Boynton dipped her toe into euphoric waters with a duet of beauty looks dreamed up by makeup artist Jo Baker, each more whimsical—and copycat-worthy—than the last.

On Monday, Baker shared a video of Boynton that centered on a pairing of shimmering "tears," silver glitter applied at the center of each lower lash line to mimic brackish drops. Spidery lashes, immaculate brows, and a pink lip teamed with the actress's platinum bob to anchor the look. And those notes carried into today's take, as well. This morning, Baker's feed featured a Boynton whose blue gaze was finished in a palette reminiscent of rainbow sherbet, bubblegum and lime brushed along the lower lash lines with lids pressed in a segmentation of tangerine, lemon, and cornflower blue. Aside from jumpstarting the aesthetic imagination, Baker's creations are bound to contribute to an even harder lean toward playful makeup. Outside-of-the-lines beauty has never been more aspirational—or approachable.
