Luann de Lesseps details drunken night that led to her arrest: 'I almost think someone slipped me something'

Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps visited The Dr. Oz Show and opened up about her December arrest. She explained that alcohol played a part in her being charged with disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest, and trespassing.

De Lesseps detailed a day and night of heavy drinking that led to her being thrown out of a jazz club, wandering into the wrong hotel room with an ex-boyfriend, insisting it was hers, and hiding in a bathroom as security and police tried to remove her.

She insisted that alcohol might not have been the only factor, saying, “I almost think someone slipped me something, because I don’t remember a thing.”

She explained how, while being removed from the hotel room bathroom, she struck a police officer with the door as he was trying to open it.

Palm Beach police released video of Lesseps being loaded into a police car while being arrested. She can be seen saying, “I will kill you,” to a police officer.

The RHONY personality issued an apology on Twitter the next day, saying “buried emotions” contributed to the incident.

She told Dr. Oz that she quit drinking for now, but stopped short of saying she was an alcoholic. She said, “I think I was using alcohol to numb my pain and emotions until it didn’t work for me anymore.”
