“Love, Victor” Season 2 Stars Open Up About Growth From Season 1: Watch

Almost exactly one year after season one of Love, Victor premiered on Hulu, the series is back with its sophomore offering (another 10 episodes), and the cast is even more excited than before to be back in Atlanta.

Love, Victor was renewed for a second season in August 2020 and the new season launched on the streaming platform on June 11. To accompany the launch, Hulu has given Teen Vogue a peek behind the scenes with an exclusive “Inside Season 2” featurette. (If you are outside of the U.S. and have been meaning to watch, note that this season will also be available internationally under Star on Disney+ from June 18 – despite the platform move for season one.)

“This season we pick up right where we left off,” Michael Cimino, who plays Victor, recounts in the clip. “Season two goes further,” George Sear, who plays Victor’s finally boyfriend Benji, adds. “A lot of the characters have their own stories unfold.” Mason Gooding, who plays Andrew, describes season 2 like this: “Each character feels like an unrestrained version of themselves that we saw in season 1.”

There are a lot of new faces in town (namely Anthony Keyvan as Rahim and Ava Capri as Lucy) and a whole lot of romance. In case you haven’t yet watched, season two touches on everything from family dynamics, finding yourself, coming out, and exploring your sexuality to navigating high school life, mental health, religion, and race – with a fair share of drama sprinkled in between as well. “I think you might be seeing a little bit more than just a kiss in a hotel room this season,” Michael warns us. “That’s all I think I need to say.”

Watch the cast of Love, Victor share their experiences and opinions of season two in the featurette below:
