Lori Loughlin's Daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli Are Reportedly Withdrawing From USC
Lori Loughlin's daughters Isabella and Olivia Jade Giannulli have decided to drop out of University of Southern California, TMZ is reporting. The decision comes after Olivia Jade and Isabella's parents were both indicated in the college admissions bribery scandal for allegedly paying $500,000 to make it appear that both girls had been rowers to guarantee their admission to USC.
Sources told TMZ that Olivia and Isabella made the choice and have the full support of their parents. Their family feels certain, according to TMZ, that if the girls went back to USC, they would be "viciously bullied."
TMZ was additionally told that the girls never really wanted to go to the university. Sources told the outlet that "they liked the concept of school principally because of partying, and had their sights set on Arizona State University. That's why [their father] Mossimo sent an email saying he wanted to get his daughters 'into a school other than ASU!'"
The scandal has been particularly hard on Olivia, who, sources told the outlet, "is a mess, despondent and feeling like it's the end of the world." Olivia, an established YouTube influencer, has already lost one of her business ties (Sephora) because of the controversy.
The sisters plan to "lay low," TMZ was told, and will not enroll in another school for "at least a long while."
A source made the same point to Peopleearlier today: that Olivia and Isabella had never been very interested in getting a prestigious higher education.
“Olivia and Isabella’s personalities were always very different from their parents," the source said. They are average students. They have never been obsessed with school and didn’t seem to care that much. They attended school because their parents made them. Their focus was never about getting straight As. It was always clear that it was the parents that pushed them to go to school. Olivia always talks about her vlog. This is her passion. She never really understood why she needs to go to school.”
USC has not made a decision on whether or not they could remain at the school. USC officials told Buzzfeed that they're going to look at each student's case individually. "We will make informed, appropriate decisions once those reviews have been completed," Leigh Hopper, a USC spokesperson, told the outlet. "Some of these individuals may have been minors at the time of their application process."
