Lori Loughlin Thinks Olivia Jade’s Return to YouTube Is a “Big Betrayal”
Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are still being tried for their alleged involvement in the college admissions scandal.
Their daughter Olivia Jade recently uploaded her first YouTube video since the scandal, and Lori is not happy about it.
It’s been MONTHS since the college admission scandal consumed us all, and Olivia Jade has been keeping everyone waiting in anticipation of her first YouTube video. While some of us were hoping she’d make her return with a major James Charles–like confessional or a new room tour since she won’t be returning to the USC dorms anytime soon, her December 1 video was only two minutes long. But even though it was super short, its mere existence reportedly managed to piss off her mom, Lori Loughlin, anyway.
In the video, Olivia keeps things brief and just talks about how she misses YouTube and wants to say more but isn’t allowed to. She also admits she’s struggling not to make this about herself. Which, LOL, what a convenient time to be selfless when this whole scandal is literally all about her and her family’s alleged involvement. Anyway, Lori has some thoughts about this.
According to Us Weekly, Lori told Olivia she needed to stay off social media entirely until after she and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are tried. Um, as you can tell by the previous paragraph, Olivia didn’t listen. Also, she’s definitely been posting periodically on Instagram this whole time. One of the sources said the 20-year-old vlogger “had enough” of being quiet, which is why she dropped that video. But not without the input of a lawyer!
As for Lori’s reaction, well, she ain’t happy! And while most parents usually use that “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed” line, Lori went way past that and fully thinks Olivia betrayed their family. (Allegedly.) The Us source said, “Olivia’s YouTube video was a big betrayal. And cracks in the family are starting to show.”
All that said, Olivia reportedly simultaneously feels bad for her parents and is spending more time at home. Oh, the amounts I’d pay to be a fly on the wall at their Christmas dinner.
