Lori Loughlin and Olivia Jade Reportedly Aren’t Close Post-Scandal, but They’re Working on It
After that huge college admission scandal broke in March, Lori Loughlin and her daughter, Olivia Jade, have reportedly had a strained relationship at best.
Now, Lori and Olivia are trying to have a closer relationship again, but sources report that right now they’re pretty “far” from being as close as they used to be.
It seems like things may have finally died down with the Lori Loughlin cheating admissions scandal. Finally, right? After the allegations first came to light, Lori and her YouTuber daughter, Olivia Jade, apparently had a preeetty big falling out amid the drama. At first, Olivia was “very upset” with her parents, with an Us Weekly source saying she “blames her mom and dad for this scandal and for the downfall of her career.” Now, after four months of healing, reflecting, and court dates, it seems like things between Olivia and her mom are on the mend.
While Lori and Olivia are talking and taking active steps to have a better relationship, they’re still “far from being close again,” according to an Entertainment Tonight report. “Their family situation has improved,” a source said in the report. “Lori knows they will all grow and learn.” A second source said, “Things are better than they were....Time is helping to heal.” It isn’t much, but talking it out is definitely a really strong start!
All things considered, Olivia is still having a really tough time processing everything (can you blame her?) but allegedly believes her parents had her best interests at heart. “Olivia was angry with her parents at first but now realizes that they were just trying to do what’s best for her,” a source told Us Weekly in April. “Olivia loves her mom and dad very much but is especially close with Lori.”
If the sources are right, Lori and Olivia’s relationship has improved tremendously since the scandal first broke. After Olivia’s boyfriend, Jackson Guthy, broke up with her in May, an ET source made it clear that Olivia was still HELLA mad at her parents for everything. “She feels she hasn’t been a part of any wrongdoing and feels tricked by her parents into going to a school that wasn’t even her top choice.”
