Take a Look Back at Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Historic Life in Photos

This week, the world lost a titan. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Supreme Court Justice, liberal stalwart, women's rights advocate, and national treasure, passed away on Friday. There's no doubting that Ginsburg lived an extraordinary life. From being one of only eight women in her Harvard Law School class to her Supreme Court appointment, the Justice broke through barriers and defied expectations throughout her 87 years.

When reflecting upon how she'd like to be remembered, Ginsburg once said, "Someone who used whatever talent she had to do her work to the very best of her ability. And to help repair tears in her society, to make things a little better through the use of whatever ability she has. To do something, as my colleague David Souter would say, outside myself. ‘Cause I’ve gotten much more satisfaction for the things that I’ve done for which I was not paid."
