Lonzo Ball shows Gary Harris his best LeBron James impression with chase-down block
Lonzo Ball’s game has has shown flashes of improvement since an ominous start to his rookie season.
While his field-goal shooting (36.7) and three-point shooting (32.7) rates for the season are still abysmal, he’s shown a significant improvement over the 31.8 percent field-goal clip he posted over 21 games in October and November.
All the while, he’s managed to fill up box scores to the tune of 10.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and seven assists.
With Ball’s progress and a deadline trade that remade the roster, the Lakers’ fortunes have improved to the tune of a 19-9 mark since Jan. 8 after an 11-27 start.
But who knew Ball could play defense? Apparently, he’s not as bad on defense as advertised. And he showed some serious prowess Tuesday against the Nuggets that nobody saw coming. Especially Gary Harris.
Wow. That’s reminiscent of an iconic block by a certain player considered to be the best of his generation.
Granted, it’s a March game against the Nuggets and not Game 7 of the NBA Finals, but Ball’s block is impressive nonetheless.
