The Real fans are bracing themselves for upsetting news about their favorite daytime TV talk show.

Rumors have recently started circulating the internet that The Real is going to be canceled. According to several outlets, the Emmy-winning show is coming to an end after eight seasons on the air. That said, no official news has been announced from The Real nor its production companies. (We'll be sure to update this story if and when more information is revealed.) Since premiering in 2014, the morning panel show has earned recognition for giving women of color a platform to voice their thoughts and opinions on important topics. Season 8 of The Real currently features Adrienne Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai Jenkins and Garcelle Beauvais.

Shortly after reports began surfacing about the alleged cancellation news, Loni spoke out on social media addressing the matter. "It’s been a busy few days but I got a call from the studio.. no official decision has been made about #TheReal," she wrote on March 13. "I will be ok but please give grace to the 150 crew members this may affect… we will finish Season 8 and wait for official word."

The comedian also shared her message on Instagram and added, "Thank you to our wonderful crew @therealdaytime #season8."

After reading Loni's candid update about the unconfirmed rumors, fans immediately flooded the comments section with a mix of emotions. Many expressed how upset the idea of The Real getting canceled made them and others sent their best wishes.

"I would be sooooo sad. I've been rocking with y'all since the pilot. I love you all!!! 🙏🙏🙏," one person wrote on Instagram. "No 😢. This breaks my heart literally. Representation matters and you ladies did it with class. Please stay on," another added. "🙏 Prayers for you and the whole crew!!! COME ON season 9!!!! Thank you all for the fun information and entertainment you girls bring. Keep it coming!!!! Love you girls," a different fan said.

Some viewers also offered words of encouragement. "No matter what happens y'all gave us the best daytime show ever. The show changed my life and my perspective in so many ways 👏🏽 hoping for the best!!" a follower commented. "If you are canceled, nobody can take away the Emmy awards that everyone had a part in. Will forever be grateful for this show," another said.

But why would The Real get canceled? The reports stated that it was due to low ratings, though this hasn’t been confirmed. Throughout the show's eight seasons, viewers have watched the hosts' lives evolve, including that of previous stars Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Amanda Seales. The daytime TV show cast openly discusses important topics like dating, marriage, divorce, motherhood, infertility and more.

Fans of the series witnessed Adrienne become the first Latina host of a daytime talk show in the U.S. and later, cheered her on when she fell in love with her husband, Israel Houghton. Many lent their support when Jeannie married Jeezy and celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Monaco Mai Jenkins.
