The worlds of film and TV collide at the Golden Globes, making it one of the most fun shows to watch during awards season — where else can you see A-listers get nominated for their movies and their prestige HBO shows? Just about everyone, most of the stars included thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this year's hybrid, bi-coastal ceremony, will be celebrating from home this year, which means viewers can get in on the fun, too. Just how long is this year's telecast? It depends on just how much you want to see.
According to TV Guide, the 2021 Golden Globes ceremony is scheduled to last three hours, from 8 to 11 P.M. ET, on NBC, its website, and its app. However, that's just the main event and also doesn't account for stars' acceptance speeches (which can get notoriously long). Die-hard movie and television fans — and anyone interested in exactly how a red carpet works during a virtual show held in multiple locations — can stretch the whole occasion out to almost seven hours.

HFPA Presents: Globes Countdown Live, the official Hollywood Foreign Press Association pre-show, will air before the 2021 Golden Globes starting at 6:30 P.M. ET on the Golden Globes Twitter account. Sofia Carson and Access Hollywood's Zuri Hall will host the 90-minute pre-show, which will include virtual celebrity interviews. Of course, E! will also be hosting an entire slate of pre-shows, which start at 4 P.M. ET. The schedule includes the network's trademark red carpet coverage, Countdown to Live From E! at the Golden Globes and Live From E! at the Golden Globes.
