Just shy of Bastille Day, the intimate French brasserie Bellanger was the perfect setting for an intimate dinner with venerable hosts Katie Grand, Felicity Jones, and Derek Blasberg, who invited a creative collective to celebrate the screening of #MovingLove (the moving image content from Love magazine’s 22nd issue), and Love’s ongoing relationship with YouTube.

A buzzing crowd assembled on the terrace on a scorching London evening, including Kendall Jenner, Adwoa Aboah (wearing Alexander McQueen), man-about-town on four wheels Blondey McCoy, Molly Goddard, and Elfie Reigate. A chilled welcoming glass of Laurent Perrier was served with salmon rillettes and confit duck leg crostini with lingonberry jam, followed by Mediterranean veggies with spiced tabbouleh, and a fashion favorite—superfood salads—when it was time to take a perch. Bellanger is a restaurant by Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, the team behind The Wolseley, Brasserie Zédel, and Fisher’s.

The movie screening had taken place before supper at the charming Screen on the Green in Islington—a mere heartbeat from the restaurant. Amongst the shorts shown were Sølve Sundsbø’s docu-film starring Sarabande’s (The Lee Alexander McQueen Foundation) students and Giselle Norman, who wore the work of past and present Sarabande designers; Tim Walker’s Tomo Koizumi special, styled by Ibrahim Kamara; and Willy Vanderperre’s film starring Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Juliette Lewis, and Tracee Ellis Ross. Sensation Rami Malek also made his first screen appearance since his Oscar win in the sweet North London venue, in a short directed by Call This Number, which had a high fashion finale—Malek dressed in a huge bubble formation created by wunderkind and CSM BA Fashion graduate Fredrik Tjaerandsen. Arguably more flamboyant than Bohemian Rhapsody! The young designer joined the celebrations with party hardliners Harry Freegard and Gui Rosa, together with Reba Maybury and later enjoyed the zing of the lemon curd tarts. Directors of #MovingLove films in attendance included: Alasdair McLellan, Alex La Cruz, Steve Mackey, Douglas Hart of Call This Number, and Tim Walker.

As romantic as the scene could potentially get at Bellanger, puppy love prevailed as Katie Grand, Derek Blasberg, and Kendall Jenner sat together and discussed their beloved dogs Red (Katie’s handsome Vizla) Monster (Derek’s dachshund) and Jenner’s Doberman Pinscher. Karen Elson cut through the dimmed lighting, with crimson hair contrasting with the white lace pilgrim collar of her floral minidress. Ever the adventurer Giles Deacon kept his backpack on all evening, while a model conspiracy was afoot with Fran Summers and new mum Erin O’Connor (dressed in Christopher Kane) held court at their own table—thick as thieves.
