Apparently, there's a reason why the Met Gala is known for Moschino and Burberry, and not Moscow Mules and bruschetta. According to Lizzo, that's because there's hardly any food or booze at the annual extravaganza.

Ahead of tonight's Met Gala, at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lizzo went on Instagram Live and trashed last year's gala because of its lack of food and cocktails, plus long lines.

At 2022's gala, the "About Damn Time" singer famously wore a stunning, hand-embroidered gold and black coat over a Thom Browne gown. Unfortunately, the pairing was no match against not-so-cool temps and a lack of seating.

"There's a long f**king line," said Lizzo, according to Cosmopolitan. "I'm taking the glamour away from it but it's true. You've gotta wait. So you're waiting and that's the hardest part. I was sweating in a big-ass coat, my feet were hurting."

On top of a grueling wait, hors d'oeuvres were few and far between. And then, there was the tequila issue.

"I was like, 'B*tch? Can we get some chairs or some drinks or some hors d'oeuvres?' They were being really stingy with the liquor that night," she said. "He was like, 'Red or white wine? And I was like, 'Tequila! Do you know what I've been through? Do you know how many hours I've been in this corset? How long I've been in these damn shoes? Tequila!'"

According to an article in Voguewhose editor, Anna Wintour, hosts the Met Gala—dinner is fortunately a part of this evening's festivities. "The event usually involves a high-profile performer (like Rihanna or Justin Bieber), and guests always explore the exhibition before sitting down together for dinner," according to the Vogue story.

Maybe Jimmy Kimmel can save the day with another one of his snack boxes.
