Lizzo Announces New Single, "Rumors" and Fans Think It Could Be A Harry Styles Collab

Although Lizzo has been living her best life on TikTok for the past few months, she proved that there's been a little something up her sleeve this entire time. The "Truth Hurts" hitmaker *just* announced that she's kickstarting a new era on August 13 with the release of her single, "Rumors."
So, this is the mysterious post that Lizzo hinted at on Sunday night. Before dropping the stunning single art for "Rumors" that was photographed by Jora Frantzis, Lizzo posted a black title card that read "SHHHHHHHH 🤫" onto her Instagram feed.
"Don’t even like this post cus you REALLY gon like my post tomorrow 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫 #shhhhhhhhhhhh," she captioned the photo posted on Sunday, August 1.
To be honest, I've lost any ability to chill since this will be Lizzo's first single in nearly two years. Her last single was the R&B power ballad and titular track of her last album, "Cuz I Love You," which peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2019, she dropped the remix to her self-love anthem, "Good As Hell," featuring Ariana Grande, which peaked at No. 1.
Fans and musicians alike are also showing their support for the singer by commenting on the announcement.
"THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED," MTV said, while award-winning producer Diplo commented "Omg🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥." Could we see a Diplo x Lizzo collab in the future?
Speaking of highly-anticipated music collabs, user @llindsayluv commented "UNBOTHERED. HIZZO COLLAB???" alluding to a potential project by Lizzo and her BFF, Harry Styles. I can't even lie, the world would simply heal if Hizzo came together musically.
Another fan, @francisdominiic, poked fun at Lizzo's recent DM debacle with Captain America himself, Chris Evans. "I know this is about CHRISTOPHER JAMAL EVANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the comment read.
There's no telling what we can expect from Lizzo this era, all I know is I already have my streaming services ready to stream.
