Livin' La Vida Loca singer Ricky Martin breaks silence after sexual relations with nephew allegations

Ricky Martin has spoken out for the first time since allegations that he had a sexual relationship with his nephew came to light earlier this week. It comes after his nephew – who had petitioned a restraining order against the Livin' La Vida Loca singer – withdrew the claims.
To recap, earlier this month the singer was served with a restraining order, petitioned by his nephew. "The parties were related for seven months. They separated two months ago, but the petitioner does not accept the separation," the restraining order reportedly said. "[Ricky] calls him frequently. In addition, the petitioner has seen him hanging around his residence on at least three occasions."
His representatives shut the allegation down, saying "[this is] completely false and fabricated." It was later alleged that the 50-year-old singer had been involved in a sexual relationship with his nephew that spanned seven months.
Yesterday, Martin appeared in court via videolink where a judge decided to terminate the restraining order. After the verdict, Martin's legal team shared a statement which read: "Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court."
The statement continued, "The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career."
Alongside the statement, Martin – who has been married to artist Jwan Yosef since 2017 – added: "Truth prevails."
The singer had strongly denied all of the allegations made against him, and yesterday a source close to the star told TMZ that he planned to "directly address the judge and vigorously deny he had any romantic/sexual relationship with the nephew who has claimed such a relationship went on for seven months."
Earlier this month, Martin's attorney said of the claims: "Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be – involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew. The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting."
But, this case does not mark the end of the singer's legal woes. He is currently facing a lawsuit filed by his former manager, Rebecca Drucke, who is suing him for $3 million over claims of unpaid commissions. He has not publicly responded to Drucke's allegation.
