No. 19 Michigan 45, No. 8 Notre Dame 14
Michigan ran up the score on a soggy night at the Big House, and in the process all but eliminated Notre Dame from playoff contention.
Zach Charbonnet has two early TD runs as the Wolverines opened up a 17-point halftime lead. Shea Patterson’s two scoring passes in the second effectively put the game away late before the Wolverines tacked on two more touchdowns.
The weather has made it a tough night for both quarterbacks, as evidenced by this Patterson attempt.

Things got interesting when Notre Dame scored its first touchdown to cap a drive that was extended by a pass interference penalty that Michigan fans didn’t like. They were so angry they threw towels on the field after the score.

Kansas State 48, No. 5 Oklahoma 41
The Sooners’ chances at the College Football Playoff took a big hit.
After trailing 48-23 in the fourth quarter, they scored back-to-back touchdowns — a 70-yard TD pass from Jalen Hurts to CeeDee Lamb and a 1-yard sneak from Hurts (with a two-point conversion) — to cut K-State’s lead to 48-38.
The Sooners then forced a Kansas State punt and got the ball back at their 28-yard line with 4:42 left. They drove down the field, and Gabe Brkic’s fourth field goal of the game made it 48-41 with 1:45 to play.
Oklahoma thought it had recovered the onside kick, but after a review the ball hit the knee of a Sooners player just before it went 10 yards, giving K-State the ball. The Wildcats were able to take a knee and run out the clock.

Kansas State led 24-23 at halftime and scored the first 24 points of the second half. It started with a Blake Lynch field goal early in the third. Then, after OU’s first punt of the day was shanked, Kansas State (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) marched 46 yards on four plays — capped by a 3-yard TD run from QB Skylar Thompson — to open up a 34-23 lead.
Oklahoma’s T.J. Pledger then fumbled the ensuing kickoff, which led to Thompson’s fourth TD run of the game for a 41-23 lead with 5:34 left in the third quarter. James Gilbert added a 2-yard TD run with 12:47 to play in the game.
You wouldn’t have seen this coming from how the game began. Oklahoma (7-1, 4-1) led 10-0 after a tough 10-yard TD run from Hurts that was set up on a 70-yard trick pass play from Hurts to Nick Basquine.

But Kansas State stormed back on two TD runs from Thompson — the second one 23 second before halftime to give K-State a 24-20 lead.

Brkic kicked his third field goal of the first half — a 50-yarder — just before halftime to make it 24-23 at the break.

No. 1 Alabama 48, Arkansas 7
Tua Tagovailoa was out injured, and Mac Jones stepped in under center for the Crimson Tide. Jones threw three TD passes and Najee Harris ran for two scores of his own as Alabama (7-0, 4-0 SEC) rolled and can look forward to its matchup against No. 2 LSU in two weeks.

No. 2 LSU 23, No. 9 Auburn 20
Joe Burrow and LSU will be undefeated when they face Alabama in two weeks.
Burrow completed 32-of-42 passes for 321 yards and a score, but it was his 5-yard TD run with 13:29 remaining that were the winning points in the victory over Auburn.
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire scored on a 6-yard TD run to give LSU (8-0, 4-0 SEC) the lead for good at 16-13 with 5:23 left in the third quarter. Edwards-Helaire carried all four times on the drive for 45 yards.
Auburn (6-2, 3-2) still had plenty of life left. Trailing 23-13 and getting the ball at the LSU 49 with 3:33 left. QB Bo Nix completed passes to Anthony Schwartz and Seth Williams. That — plus a pass interference penalty on LSU — gave Auburn a first-and-goal at the 5. Nix hit Williams with a TD pass on the next play.
But LSU recovered the onside kick and held on for the victory.

No. 3 Ohio State 38, No. 13 Wisconsin 7
A special teams play helped Wisconsin get on the board.
But the good feelings didn’t last.
A partially blocked punt early in the third quarter gave the Badgers (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) the ball at the Buckeyes’ 30-yard line. On third-and-6, QB Jack Coan hit A.J. Taylor with a 26-yard scoring strike to make it a 10-7 game.
But Ohio State came right back and scored on a 75-yard eight-play drive, capped by a 10-yard TD run from QB Justin Fields. Then they added two TD runs from J.K. Dobbins and a second TD connection between Fields and Chris Olave to pull away.
The first half was a defensive battle.
After a scoreless first quarter, Ohio State (7-0, 4-0) got on the board first on a 49-yard field goal from Blake Haubeil with 6:52 left in the first half. It was a 12-play, 41-yard scoring drive.
The Buckeyes went on a much longer march to increase their lead to double digits. Starting at their own 15, they went eight plays and 85 yards — culminating with a 27-yard TD pass from Fields to Olave — for a 10-0 halftime lead.

No. 4 Clemson 59, Boston College 7
The Tigers (7-0, 5-0 ACC) extended the nation’s longest active winning streak to 23 games as RB Travis Etienne ran for three TDs and QB Trevor Lawrence tossed three touchdown passes.

No. 6 Penn State 28, Michigan State 7
The Nittany Lions (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) had lost two straight to the Spartans (4-4, 2-3), but that skid ended in a big way. QB Sean Clifford has four TD passes — three to Pat Freiermuth and one to KJ Hamler — in the rout at East Lansing.
TCU 37, No. 15 Texas 27
The Horned Frogs (4-3, 2-2 Big 12) rallied from a 20-13 third-quarter deficit and took control with QB Max Duggan’s 11-yard TD run with 1:59 left.
Sam Ehlinger had two TD passes — and a career-high four interceptions — for the Longhorns (5-3, 3-2).

No. 17 Minnesota 52, Maryland 10
The Gophers (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) hadn’t been 8-0 since 1941 — their national championship season. They rolled against the Terrapins (3-5, 1-4) as Tanner Morgan had two first-half TD passes and Coney Durr added a 72-yard interception return for a score.
No. 20 Iowa 20, Northwestern 0
The Hawkeyes (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) struck first on a 50-yard TD pass from Nate Stanley to Tyrone Tracy Jr. for the early lead over the Wildcats (1-6, 0-5), and that was all they needed in the victory. But they added two field goals from Keith Duncan and a third-quarter TD run from Mekhi Sargent.
No. 21 Appalachian State 30, South Alabama 3
The Mountaineers (7-0, 4-0 Sun Belt) remained one of two undefeated Group of 5 teams with the victory over the Jaguars (1-7, 0-4).
Oklahoma State 34, No. 23 Iowa State 27
The Cyclones (5-3, 3-2 Big 12) had recorded three-straight double-digit wins behind sophomore QB Brock Purdy, but Malcolm Rodriguez picked off Purdy and returned it 26 yards for a score to break at 27-all tie with 6:47 remaining in the game. Purdy threw three second-half picks as the Cowboys (5-3, 2-3) held on for the victory.
UCLA 42, No. 24 Arizona State 32
The Bruins (3-5, 3-2) had lost three of its last four to the Sun Devils (5-3, 2-3 Pac-12) coming into the night, but that changed thanks largely to a big night from Joshua Kelley, who amassed 164 yards and four TD runs on the ground. The Bruins held on for the upset win after ASU’s late rally came up short.
