‘Little Women’ Is Coming to Netflix in February
You’re invited to spend some quality time with the March sisters next month, because Little Women is heading to Netflix.
Which Little Women movie? Your favorite, of course. It’s the 1994 film adaptation directed by Gillian Armstrong (Death Defying Acts, Charlotte Gray) from a screenplay by Robin Swicord (Matilda, Practical Magic). It stars Winona Ryder (Heathers, The Crucible) as Jo March, Trini Alvarado (Little Children, All Good Things) as Meg March, Claire Danes (Romeo + Juliet, The Family Stone) as Beth March, Kirsten Dunst (Marie Antoinette, Mona Lisa Smile) as Amy March, Susan Sarandon (Stepmom, Thelma & Louise) as Mrs. March (aka Marmee), and Christian Bale (The Fighter, The Dark Knight) as Theodore "Laurie" Laurence.
Little Women is an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic 1868 novel of the same name, based in part on the events of her life. It’s a coming-of-age story set in Civil War-era Massachusetts and tells of the March family—who support each other in the absence of their father, a chaplain serving in the war—as well as the friends and neighbors who populate their lives. The March sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy—encounter challenges as they grow up, withstand tragedy, chase their dreams, and fall in love in the middle of the 19th century.
Little Women will be available to stream on Netflix from February 11, 2019.
