'Little People, Big World' stars address insensitive pregnancy rumors: 'I hope you think twice about asking'

Little People, Big World star Tori Roloff addressed pregnancy rumors on Wednesday, with an Instagram post pointing out how insensitive it can be to speculate on whether a woman is expecting a baby.

After her father-in-law, Matt Roloff, took to his own Instagram to post a video of the family just two days earlier, the mother of one felt the need to dismiss hundreds of comments about her body. From the simple question “Is Tori expecting?” to suggestions from viewers who said they “see a baby bump,” Tori took it upon herself to clear up the rumors and tell her 850,000 followers that the suggestions were not appropriate.

“Asking a woman if she’s pregnant can be extremely damaging,” the 27-year-old wrote. “Luckily, I know when I get asked these questions it’s coming from a place of love. […] However I hope you think twice about asking a woman ‘are you pregnant?’ Or ‘when’s the next one coming?’ You don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors in anyone’s life.”

Tori continued to explain why she felt passionate about dispelling the rumors, writing that she’s seen friends and family struggle to get pregnant.

“I know how much it hurts every time this question is asked,” she said, referring to sparing the feelings of people in that situation.

The comment section is now flooded with people praising Tori for speaking up. Some are even sharing their own experiences with infertility.

My husband and I are having a hard time getting pregnant,” one person commented. “Had a miscarriage last December. But still people always ask when are you guys going to have a baby? Anything yet? Like just so d*** disrespectful!” While another wrote, “It took us 7 years with lots of fertility meds, heartbreak and tears to have our second. People don’t understand how damaging those questions can be.”

Still, Tori assures her fans that she and her husband, Zach, would love to have another child. “But let’s wait patiently together!” she wrote.
