Little Girl Mistakes Prom-Goer for Princess

Prom is basically the Royal Ball of high school, so it’s only fitting that a little girl recently mistook a teen taking prom photos for a real-life princess out on the town.

North Carolina teen Kwani Taylor was taking pre-prom pictures at the Raleigh Rose Garden when a little girl walked up. “She saw Kwani and said, ‘There’s a princess over there,’” the girl’s mother told WCNC. “We didn’t want to interrupt so we waited until a good moment and she just ran up and was enamored.”

The “princess” vibe came from Taylor’s pink tulle gown, complete with a sequined bodice and, of course, a flower corsage to match. She even had her very own prince: her date and fellow student at Enloe Magnet High School.

Taylor embraced her new role as a princess as quickly as if she was standing inside Disney’s Magic Castle. She asked the little girl her name and offered her a hug. It turns out that she couldn’t have picked a better 17-year-old to mistake for a princess: Taylor is an actress.

“My daughter just bent down and went right into character,” Kwani’s mother Tee Taylor told WNC. “She won best actress at her school, she’s into drama, it just makes sense for her to step into that role.”

The video has gotten over 70,000 shares on Facebook, with commenters weighing in on the sweet moment. “Kids say the [nicest] things I know that made her day,” wrote Stephanie Harris. “Aaaawww she is a beautiful Princess evolving into a Queen!” wrote Blinda Fleming Stephens.

Not many 17-year-olds would take time out of their big night to make a stranger’s day, even if it is an adorable little girl. Here’s hoping Taylor had a prom night worthy of an IRL princess — and the photos to prove it.
