A little girl had the biggest and “best reaction ever” to receiving a doll that looks just like her.
Yelitsa Jean-Charles is the founder of Healthy Roots Dolls, a line of diverse dolls with curly and wavy hair types. The dolls are meant to help little girls embrace their natural hair. Each doll even comes with tutorials on how to do different hairstyles.
“Healthy Roots Dolls have a medley of facial features, skin tones and hair textures that can be styled in countless ways,” the company states. “Our dolls have multiple interests and aspirations which exposes young girls to their own unlimited career potential.”
Jean-Charles shared a video of a young girl seeing Zoe, the first doll created in the line. Zoe is described as loving her natural curls and “here to help other girls love their curls too.”

The little girl sat in her car seat with her eyes closed. When she opened them, a Zoe doll was waiting for her. She couldn’t help but scream uncontrollably.
“Oh my god! My doll! My doll! It came! It’s so pretty!” she shouted in excitement.
“I cry every time I see girls fall in love with my doll. We call it the Zoe Effect,” Jean-Charles said in the video text.
The adorable video racked up 2.4 million views on TikTok.
