Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn was open about her breakup with golf star Tiger Woods back in 2015, and she’s still open about their relationship now. Despite their split, Vonn is rooting for Woods to get his career back on track.

Vonn revealed that in profile by Tim Layden over at Sports Illustrated. The article focuses on the various injuries Vonn has suffered throughout her career, and how she’s overcome them to make it back to the Olympics.

Buried in that piece is yet another honest quote from Vonn about Woods.

Vonn is asked if it was a good idea to date such a famous — and infamous — man. “I mean … I was in love,” she says. “I loved him and we’re still friends. Sometimes, I wish he would have listened to me a little more, but he’s very stubborn and he likes to go his own way. I hope this latest comeback sticks. I hope he goes back to winning tournaments.”

The two dated for over two years. They broke up in 2015.

Winning has been a bit of an issue for Woods in recent years. The 42-year-old has struggled to regain his form due to back issues.

Things could be looking up, though. Woods had a successful return during the Hero World Challenge in December. He finished tied for ninth in the 18-man event, but he didn’t show any signs of injury or fatigue during the tournament.

Following the event, he said he plans to play golf on a regular basis, but did not provide specifics.

As for Vonn, she’ll be looking to pick up another gold medal in when the 2018 Winter Olympics begin in February.
