After roles in Downton Abbey, Cinderella and War & Peace you probably wouldn't expect Lily James to be cast as Pamela Anderson in a series about her infamous sex tape with Tommy Lee, but that's exactly the role she's set to play next. Alongside Captain America's Sebastian Stan, James will play the model and actress in a new Hulu series all about he couple.
The Hulu series, named Pam & Tommy, will tell the story behind the iconic couple's relationship and their sex tape scandal. The couple married on a beach in Cancun in 1995 after meeting each other four days before. While on their honeymoon they filmed themselves having sex but the tape was eventually stolen from their home by an electrician and distributed, sparking a long and highly publicised legal dispute.
Alongside James and Stan, Seth Rogen will play the man who stole and sold the tape as well as executive producing, and the project will be directed by I, Tonya's Craig Gillespie. Neither Anderson or Lee are officially involved in the eight part series which is set to start filming in spring 2021.
While people are clearly looking forward to what sounds like a drama-filled show, they're also just slightly confused about casting Lily James to play Pammy...
Mkay .. this should be a stylist's challenge for sure because I really can't see Lily being Pam so I'm curious to see how they do pic.twitter.com/XoO0MN1H4p
