What does the face of one of the most iconic makeup brands in the world do during quarantine? “I've been spending a lot of time watching super-old seasons of America's Next Top Model on Hulu,” Lili Reinhart, actress and CoverGirl ambassador tells BAZAAR.com. “But the coolest part about binging was that I watched the episode that Queen Latifah guest-starred in who at the time was the newest CoverGirl ambassador. It was so inspiring and amazing to watch because now I’m in that position at CoverGirl.”

The Hustlers star joined CoverGirl as an ambassador last October, alongside the reintroduction of the cosmetics brand’s iconic tagline, "Easy, Breezy, Beautiful.” Now, Reinhart takes on another role at her gig: The face of the CoverGirl’s Clean Fresh line. “Right now, we are living in world with a lot of heavy makeup looks,” she says . “It's been an honor to represent a line that is focused on natural beauty and clean skin.”

In between America's Next Top Model marathons, Reinhart has been watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, from artists like Michelle Phan to NikkieTutorials. But she says, she leaves the expert looks to the pros.

“I appreciate a more natural look because it’s what I can personally achieve,” she adds. “CoverGirl has allowed me to embrace the real side of myself and my natural philosophy when it comes to makeup.”

While on a hiatus from filming her show Riverdale, which just concluded its fourth season, the actress went on a break from makeup. “I've just been enjoying letting my skin breathe and do its thing,” she says. “I think it's important to go all-natural when you can, especially for me since I'm typically wearing makeup for 16 hours a day. It's been a lovely little change for me to go makeup-free at home.”

Not only has Reinhart been ditching her everyday makeup during quarantine, but she’s double-downed on skincare. “I’ve learned the importance of skincare, and that your skin care comes first,” she adds. “The prettiest makeup that you can achieve is using your skin as the foundation.”

The actress has previously opened up about her struggle with cystic acne. But since joining the cast of Riverdale and the CoverGirl family, she’s learned to embrace her breakouts.

“I didn't always have a good base to work off of and I dealt with acne scars, so I relied on makeup to cover my marks,” she explains. “On the set [of Riverdale], I did learn how to cover my breakouts. But at the end of the day, I realized that acne is acne, and makeup is not a magic wand that will make it disappear.”

As Reinhart spends more time at home with her dog Milo, she plans on experimenting with more beauty products: “Now is a great time to a chemical peel, because you don’t have to see anyone and there’s no need to wear any makeup to cover redness!"
