This week, footage of Lil Pump in Japan posted by user @firesnippetwent went viral on TikTok.

“Why no one knew Lil Pump in streets of Japan?” the caption read.

Standing in a crowded Tokyo street, the rapper looked perplexed that no one noticed him. He folded his arms and looked around as if stunned at the lack of interest. He eventually threw his hands up and shrugged in frustration.

“So basically the same as the US,” someone joked.

“They’re lucky his music didn’t reach over there,” another said.

“Currently in America and I’ve never heard anyone say ‘put on some Lil Pump,’” a person commented.

“I love it when famous people don’t get recognized and you can clearly see it hurts their ego,” a user replied.

“This would happen at a Costco in Connecticut too,” a TikToker said.

Lil Pump later posted photos with fans on Instagram. One person even had a tattoo that referenced the rapper’s music that read “Esskeeetit.”
