The sell-out John Lewis cardigan worth adding to your spring wardrobe
Fancy a little taste of high-end Parisian style on a high street budget? John Lewis's hugely popular striped cardigan may be just what your wardrobe is missing.
Its chic boxy cut, handy front pockets and trendy gold buttons give it the kind of luxe look that will make people think you've splashed the cash on an expensive designer piece.
But, at just £49, it's a fraction of the cost.
Therefore, it's no surprise that the original blue and off-white Breton version, which launched in February 2023, has been a sell-out success.
While the blue iteration remains out of stock for the time being, we're sure a restock will be imminent. Currently there are a few in size 18 available, so you may be able to get one if you're very quick.
Due to high demand, the department store has now bought out the useful spring jacket in a new green version, which we're sure will sell out equally as fast.
Why we rate it
For starters, this beautifully textured knit is made of 100% cotton, making it not only wonderfully soft against the skin and comfortable to wear, but also immensely breathable.
The cropped, boxy shape and the little square pockets at the front mean it looks smart enough to wear to work with a pencil skirt or well-cut trousers (just pop a little camisole underneath).
It's also a great addition to your everyday capsule wardrobe, thrown on with jeans, or over a pretty summery dress, for those times when it heats up in the daytime but gets a little nippy at night.
The green version is currently available in sizes 8-20, and the blue version was in sizes 8-18 before it sold out.
And, bonus - it's machine washable at 30 degrees. Just lay it flat to dry it so that it keeps its shape.
