The First Trailer for Lifetime's New Movie About Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Is Finally Here

From Town & Country

Lifetime is back at it with another Meghan and Harry-themed movie. Following on the heels of last year's Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal promises to take fans behind the scenes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first year of marriage.

Here's everything we know so far about the made-for-TV movie that's sure to become a classic.

The first trailer is finally here.

Lifetime dropped the sneak peek, which features scenes at Christmas of this past year, on April 3. Watch it below:

It will have a new cast.

In late February, Lifetime announced the project, sharing that both royal roles have been recast. While Parisa Fitz-Henley played Meghan in A Royal Romance, and Murray Fraser played Harry, in the new film, the royal couple will be portrayed by Tiffany Marie Smith and Charlie Field.

Fans may recognize Smith from roles in Jane the Virgin, Vice, and Supernatural. For his part, Field has appeared on Poldark.

Fitz-Henley showed her support for her royal successor on social media, shortly after the news was announced, tweeting, "Thrilled for the LOVELY @TiffanysTweets!!! She’s thoughtful, funny and all about sisterhood - you’re going to love her!! Congrats T & @CharlieREField! #BecomingRoyal"

The movie will focus on the royal couple's first year of marriage.

While A Royal Romance followed their courtship, right up to the royal engagement, Becoming Royal will center around their first year as a married couple. According to a description of the film, it will pull back "the curtain to reveal the untold joys and challenges of life inside the Royal Family. Beyond blending their families and cultures, Harry and Meghan's core values are put to the test as they try to find the balance between honoring royal tradition and staying true to their beliefs."

Lifetime already shared the first still from the film.
