Camdyn Rider, 21, died after being shot several times by his partner in front of witnesses near the couple’s home in Winter Haven, and his unborn child could not be saved, according to multiple media reports, some of which misgendered him. His partner, Riley John Groover, 26, then shot and killed himself. Chaya Raichik, who runs the Libs of TikTok anti-LGBTQ+ Twitter account, mocked the dead victim for being transgender.

The shooting occurred in Winter Haven’s Inwood community. First responders and physicians at the medical center could not save Rider or his unborn child.

“The incident occurred just after 7:00 p.m. outside in a neighborhood in front of several witnesses near their home located on Central Avenue West,” according to the police. “At this stage in the investigation, it’s clear that this is a domestic-related double murder-suicide.”

According to Groover's mother, Groover and Rider were engaged to be married. She said that the relationship could be volatile, and they often argued over home chores. The mother told local media that Groover used her gun, which she kept at home as protection, to kill Rider.

The Twitter account for Libs of TikTok joked about the murder-suicide.

“’Pregnant boyfriend,’” Raichik wrote using quotation marks mockingly alongside a tweet from Law & Crime Network to the story that read, “Man shot and killed his pregnant boyfriend and then himself in murder-suicide: Deputies.”

One user responded to Raichik's tweet by writing, "I think I found the problem."

Harvard Law School Cyber Law Clinic instructor and trans activist Alejandra Caraballo blasted Raichik’s tweet.

“It’s not enough to mock trans people, Chaya had to mock a trans man after he’s been murdered. She’s a soulless [b*stard],” she wrote.

Many users critiqued Raichik for going after a murdered trans person without commenting on the tragic circumstances or the fact Rider's unborn child was also killed.

"It’s a tweet about someone being murdered and they took that opportunity to make a joke about trans ppl….. okay," one Twitter user wrote in response to Caraballo's tweet.
