It looks like it's the end of an era: Liam Hemsworth has officially filed for divorce from Miley Cyrus, according to TMZ and People. If the reports are true, Hemsworth cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
According to TMZ, Cyrus apparently wanted to give their relationship one last go, but Hemsworth was ready to move on. In addition to filing the legal documents, he was spotted out recently without a wedding ring. Per TMZ, there's no date of separation on the documents yet; the space to write it in reportedly reads "TBD."
The couple announced they were calling it quits earlier this month through Cyrus's reps: "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a statement read. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
The gossip mill has been relentless since then, with many reports focusing on Cyrus's recent hangouts with Brody Jenner's ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter. (They've been spotted kissing.) Cyrus dropped a song last week, “Slide Away,” that seems to be about her and Hemsworth's split. Listen for yourself in the video, above.
"Hi all, Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," he wrote. "This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
