Welcome to Heat Check, a (semi)regular dose of much-needed style inspiration culled from the very best celebrity fit pics around.

Over the years, Saint Laurent has carefully cultivated associations with musicians of all kinds, regularly featuring rock royalty and less-established artists alike in splashy print spreads, and filling the coveted first rows of its runway shows with a veritable who's who of the music industry.

Well, the house that Yves built is back at it again, this time around enlisting none other than Lenny Kravitz to star in a brooding, David Sims-directed campaign celebrating the brand's fall/winter collection (with art direction courtesy of Anthony Vaccarello, the brand's current creative director).

Of course, there are few modern-day music industry avatars more suited to Vaccarello's louche take on Parisian style than Kravitz, a man who, at just shy of 60, still wears a pair of slim black jeans like nobody's business. Vaccarello's very good menswear tends to generate slightly less online chatter than that of his polarizing predecessor, so if these images represent your first introduction to what he's been up to at the storied French fashion house, fret not: They're a near-perfect encapsulation of the darkly sexy, retro-inflected clothing the designer does better than almost anyone else.

Styled in, among other things, a selection of the brand's printed silk shirts (one of them in leopard print), a trim blazer, and sleek black denim, Kravitz looks every part the Saint Laurent man and, as the kids say, is very much giving me life.

And if this is your first introduction to Lenny Kravitz, boy are you in for a treat. You better believe "Fly Away" still slaps. Bump that shit ASAP.
