Lauren Sanchez's Brother Michael Talks About His Role in the Ongoing Battle Between Bezos and AMI
In the week following Jeff Bezos's now-infamous Medium post accusing AMI of threatening to publish intimate photos of him and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez, if he did not end his investigation into the company, attention has turned to her brother Michael Sanchez.
Several media outlets are reporting that he leaked private information to AMI.
Michael Sanchez is denying the claims that he is the leak.
In a series of interviews released today, Michael Sanchez-the brother of Lauren Sanchez, the woman whom Jeff Bezos is currently dating-spoke about his role in the brewing scandal over Bezos's accusation that the National Enquirer blackmailed him in order to stop his investigation into how the paper obtained the couple's intimate photos and texts.
Sanchez continues to deny that he was the one who supplied the Enquirer with the private exchanges, claiming to Vanity Fair that, "my only goal has been to protect Jeff and Lauren." He also said he had served as an advisor to the couple over the last year.
“They were talking marriage,” Sanchez said. “The three of us had discussed before that, at some point, this was going to be a scandal." He also said that Lauren Sanchez shared photos with her friends (which was confirmed by other news sources) but that he "never had access."
Still, multiple publications have reported that Sanchez is responsible for the leaks. Two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed to CNN that Sanchez was the leaker, while the Daily Beast reported that "multiple sources inside AMI" named Sanchez.
The Beast went a step further, reporting that Sanchez had a history of supplying information on his clients to AMI. Two sources familiar with the situation said that, "when Sanchez was representing former liberal Fox News commentator and current attorney Tamara Holder, he would routinely suggest strategy that appeared to undermine his own client and often verge on erratic." He allegedly also suggested that they leak information to Radar Online, one of AMI's outlets.
Still, Michael Sanchez continues to defend himself, as well as his sister Lauren and Bezos. "The truth will come out about my motivations and how much I believe in Jeff and Lauren’s love,” Sanchez said. “It’s a legendary romance that will blow your mind as to just how in love they are. "
