Lauren Conrad Hits the CFDA Red Carpet with a Totally Unexpected Lip Color
Look at that lip! Lauren Conrad stepped out on the CFDA Awards red carpet Monday evening sporting what might be her most shocking beauty look to date.
The designer, 30, attended the fashion event wearing a statement wine-colored lip, which she teamed with her signature makeup move — the classic cat eye. As for her outfit, she pulled a full on fashion blogger in a silky, floor-skimming, blush slip dress and oversize black blazer for the star-studded N.Y.C. event.
While the star’s unexpected bordeaux pout is slightly out of season (which might be why we’re so into it!), it’s also a lipstick shade she typically steers clear of, as she’s more drawn to pinks and reds, according to her makeup artist Amy Nadine.

“It’s really fun for me to change up her lip color,” Nadine previously told PeopleStyle. “She doesn’t love the way eye shadow looks on her, but a red lip can completely change her look from a nude lip.”
She added: “I know her comfort zone and where the perimeters are (she doesn’t want a smoky eye or an overdrawn lip liner or the lashes to compete with the winged liner, for example),” Nadine explained, “but I can get her to rock a vamp lip!”
