Red is the hot color of the season, and Lauren Chan is incorporating the fiery hue into her wardrobe from head to toe. The SI Swimsuit rookie was recently spotted in a chic and monochromatic ensemble consisting of pieces styled by designer Willie Norris.

The star of the show was a vintage red Burberry wool coat, which Norris reworked to be fitted more like a blazer that featured hidden zippers “to create a long-sleeved capelet effect,” per the designer’s Instagram. Chan paired the statement piece with long red gloves and crimson tights, along with pointed-toe heels by Manolo Blahnik and jewelry by Mejuri.

The model and former fashion editor wore the ensemble to the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) on Saturday evening, where Chan was honored with the Model of the Year Award. She showed off her ensemble from the evening on Instagram the following day in several red carpet snaps.

“Last night’s @cafawards wearing @willienorrisreworkshop and @mejuri. ♥️,” Chan wrote in her Oct. 15 Instagram post, in which she also credited photographer Hayley Kosan.

“If I can take a moment to say something personal, it’s that I was never able to call myself a model,” Chan admitted during her acceptance speech. “And I always put a moniker, like ‘plus-sized’ in front of it, or I leaned on something else that I was working on, like editing or entrepreneurship and despite some career wins... that insecurity can really be boiled down to the fact that I do not look like what I grew up seeing as the beauty ideal in fashion. So... I would like for us all to take a moment to be proud of ourselves for working to make the Canadian fashion industry more inclusive than ever.”
