The actress referred to her late pup, Jamal, as a 'miracle dog.'

Laura Dern penned a touching tribute on Instagram to her dog after he passed away.

The Oscar-winning actress announced the sad news that her dog, Jamal, had died on Aug. 20.

Dern mourned the loss with a heartfelt message that celebrated his memory and a series of photos that showcased his sweet and silly personality.

The 55-year-old captioned the pictures with very sincere message.

"Our beloved Jamal is with his angels now. We are so grateful for his love."

She also showed appreciation for the doctor who took care of Jamal over the years.

"Thank you incredible Dr. [Nicole] Buote for saving Jamal THREE TIMES. You gave us so many more years with him. He’s a miracle dog."

Dern concluded with a note from the family–including the Dern's other dog, Baby–to Jamal.

"Baby misses you. We do too."

The actress tagged her two children, whom she shares with ex Ben Harper, Jaya (17) and Ellery Harper (21); in the post, along with Dr. Buote, a veterinarian at the Cornell Veterinary School Minimally Invasive Surgical Lab.

While words won't bring back the devastating loss of a pet, difficult experiences can be made easier by support–something many shared in the comments.

Fellow actress Bryce Dallas Howard was among those who comforted the star, "Oh Laura, I’m so sorry," she wrote.

"sending u love," chimed Julianne Moore.

Both Reese Witherspoon and her daughter, Ava Phillippe, also reached out to the star.

"Oh sister. I'm so sorry for your loss," wrote Witherspoon.

"such a sweet boy ❤️," Phillippe recalled.

Many more also shared condolences, including actors Merrin Dungey and Jim Sturgess, and hairstylist Ted Gibson.

He will clearly be missed by all who got the chance to know him.
