Larry King's family is reportedly "ecstatic" that he filed for divorce.

According to multiple reports, the former CNN host's health is rapidly declining and the 85-year-old is eager to finalize his divorce and cut his wife of 22 years, Shawn, out of his will before he passes away.

Page Six cited an insider that claimed "he nearly died, and he realized that she never really cared about him." The source said that Larry had a heart scare in the spring and, more recently, had a cancerous lump removed from his lung.

Echoing a TMZ report that claimed the couple's sons, Chance, 20, and Cannon, 19, urged him to divorce their mother, Page Six alleges that the rest of his family has also been pushing him to end his marriage for years amid multiple rounds of cheating rumors, including one in 2010 that resulted in Larry filing for divorce but never ultimately getting back together with his wife.

"It’s a huge weight off his shoulders," the Page Six source said. "They detest each other."

Shawn and Larry reportedly separated in early June, as his divorce filing indicated, and Shawn apparently found out about her husband's filing from reporters calling for comment. Neither Larry nor his legal team called her before it became public record.

Now, with insiders saying that Shawn doesn't plan on fighting the divorce, those closest to the television icon are just hoping that it's finalized before he dies.

"Everyone is ecstatic -- absolutely over the moon," the Page Six source added. "We just hope he’s alive by the time [the divorce] is final."
