Queen of Coney Island and purveyor of red party dresses, Lana Del Rey, has shared details of her new album, and honestly we can’t wait for it to drop!

While she might be sharing politically conscious songs written on the way home from Coachella, Lana Del Rey is, in fact, prepping to release a brand new album. The singer shared the lead single from the collection, the cinematic track “Love,” along with the song’s beautifully cosmic video, earlier this year, and let the world know that she was working on a new record by sharing a bewitching album teaser video, too (well, she is the new Supreme after all).

Now, in an interview with rock music legend Courtney Love, Lana Del Rey has shared some more details about her new album Lust For Life, and we’re SUPER excited about it.

The conversation appears in the new issue of Dazed and Confused magazine, of which Lana is also the cover star, and in it the two singers discussed their careers and Lana’s upcoming music.

Most notably, Lana revealed that, for the first time, she has collaborated with other artists on the record.

“I did something I haven’t ever done, which is not that big of a deal, but I have a couple of collabs on this record,” she said. “I have a song with Sean Lennon [John Lennon’s son]…It’s called ‘Tomorrow Never Came.'”

Continuing, Lana also shared how the album’s title track was a collaboration with The Weeknd.

“He is actually on the title track of the record, ‘Lust for Life,'” Lana revealed. “Maybe that’s kind of weird to have a feature on the title track, but I really love that song and we had said for a while that we were gonna do something; I did stuff on his last two records.”

The track, which is receiving its radio premiere today (April 19th) on BBC Radio 1, also got a few tweaks from pop maestro Max Martin.

“‘Lust for Life’ was the first song I wrote for the record, but it was kind of a Rubik’s Cube,” she explained. “I felt like it was a big song but… it wasn’t right. I don’t usually go back and re-edit things that much, because the songs end up sort of being what they are, but this one song I kept going back to. I really liked the title. I liked the verse. [Record executive] John Janick was like, ‘Why don’t we just go over and see what Max Martin thinks?’

“So, I flew to Sweden and showed him the song. He said that he felt really strongly that the best part was the verse and that he wanted to hear it more than once, so I should think about making it the chorus. So I went back to [my producer] Rick Nowels’ place the next day and I was like, ‘Let’s try and make the verse the chorus,’ and we did, and it sounded perfect.”

OMG!

Lana also let slip that the album would be out this spring (!), which seems to semi-confirm the leaked release date of May 26th.

Hopefully, then, we won’t have too long to wait for Lust For Life to be in our lives!
