Who is Lana Condor's boyfriend? To All The Boys I've Loved Before's Lara Jean Covey lives out every teenager (every gal's!) worst nightmare when the objects of her crushes receive love letters from her — love letters that she never wanted to actually send! Seriously, we keep saying this, but if you haven't seen the movie yet — what are you doing with your life? In the movie, Lara Jean dates Peter Kavinsky. At first it's just pretend. The two pose as a couple so that Lara Jean can avoid the humiliation of those love letters and so that Peter can make his ex-girlfriend jealous.
Peter writes Lara Jean notes every day and when she finally gets around to reading them — well, we all fell in love with Peter Kavinsky. Of course, Lara Jean and Peter are a fictional couple, but it turns out Lana's real life love is as swoon worthy as her on-screen one. The 21-year-old has been dating actor Anthony De La Torre for three years. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Lana said, "I still feel like it’s our first date, but also like we are old and we’ve been together forever and ever. Yeah it’s been three years and it’s been wonderful." Let's take a look at what we know about Lana Condor's boyfriend.
1. He writes her love letters
In an interview with Us Weekly, Lana said the most romantic thing Anthony does is write her love letters. “He’s done that since we started dating and I keep them all. We try to keep the spark alive!”
2. He's supportive of her career.
Anthony is supportive of Lana's career — even when it means she's making out with Noah Centineo on screen. It helps that he's also an actor. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Lana said, "He's had a couple different working experiences where he's had to make out with someone and of course I'm like, 'I'll kill her. But he's very supportive and I'm just happy that he's working. He's really supportive and really chill about it but his family [isn't], like his brother called me the other day because he saw the trailer and he said, 'Hey your trailer looks amazing, I love it so much but I also want to throw up because I don't want to see you with someone besides my brother'."
3. Who is he?
Anthony De La Torre is a 24-year-old actor, singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was born in Bowling Green, Ohio to Cuban parents. His mom is a high school Spanish teacher and owns a cleaning business. His parents divorced shortly after he was born. He has a sister and brother. He is the youngest. He moved to Nashville in 2012 to pursue his music career. He moved to Los Angeles in 2013.
4. Justin Bieber impersonator
As a teenager, De La Torre worked as a Justin Bieber impersonator. He made $300-$600 an hour!
5. His band
Anthony De La Torre is the lead singer of the rock band De La Torre. The band is produced by Desmond Child. Anthony had a YouTube channel in high school that Child noticed. The band is influenced by Linkin Park, INXS, The Strokes, and Bon Jovi.
In a 2017 interview, De La Torre said, "I grew up listening to everything from salsa to Frank Sinatra to Disturbed and Linkin Park, a lot of urban music too. I grew up listening to everything because my family’s Cuban-American and music was always playing. When I first started working with my producer Desmond Child about five years ago, we were actually going in more of a Latin route. I went to Cuba a couple of times, I shot a music video there. It was really, really special to get to go because I didn’t think I was ever going to get to...."
"...That was an incredible experience to be there, where my grandparents were born and be in that culture and everything. Then when I came back to the states, we started focusing more on rock. I started a rock band about three years ago called De La Torre and we’ve just kind of been honing in on the sound and creating our own vibe. We started gigging about two years ago. We’ve only released two originals and we’ve done a couple covers. We recorded a song called 'Ruins' and filmed a video for it in western Nebraska at 'Carhenge.' We just released a new one called 'Paradise,' and filmed the video in San Diego at the Viejas Arena March 5th when we opened for Bon Jovi."
6. Pirates of the Caribbean
Anthony played a young Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. He nailed it. The film makers used CGI to combine a young version of Johnny Depp's face with Anthony's. He definitely gave off some 21 Jump Street era Depp vibes.
