Lamar Odom says he's getting into the cannabis business

He’s certainly not the first athlete or celebrity to get involved in the burgeoning cannabis business, but he might be the most interesting given his history.
In an interview with TheBlast.com, Lamar Odom said he’s starting Rich Soil Organics.
The 38-year-old two-time NBA champion said that as he was recovering from his substance abuse issues – he’s a recovering crack cocaine addict – he discovered the healing qualities offered by cannabis.
“While going through rehab, I discovered certain strains that support wellness,” Odom said.
His new product line will feature things that he claims helped him during his treatment and recovery.
“Friends, associates, and ex-teammates asked me what solutions I was using on my road back to recovery, and that’s when Rich Soil Organics was born. It’s a perfect time to offer these cannabis solutions to the public who may be going through similar body issues as I am,” Odom said.
The line, which Odom expects to launch in California later this year, will use “organically grown, pesticide-free cannabis” in its product line. The name of the new company is taken from Odom’s music and film production outfit, Rich Soil Entertainment.
Two years ago, another former NBAer, Clifford Robinson (aka “Uncle Cliffy”), launched his own marijuana-growing business, aptly named “Uncle Spliffy.”
