Here's a fun hypothetical for you: Say you have almost two grand burning a hole in your pocket (um, lucky you), what would you spend it on? If your first thought was a fancy, new fragrance — if you're a perfume person, that's that obvious choice — you've come to the right place. Allow us to introduce you to a top contender: Lalique's super-luxe new perfume bottle, Séduction.

Lalique Séduction is the latest addition to Lalique's Flacon Collection Cristal, a line of limited-edition (and breathtakingly gorgeous) crystal bottles filled with the brand's namesake scent: the Lalique de Lalique fragrance. (For the record, the standard 3.3oz bottle of Lalique de Lalique costs only $125, which suddenly seems like a bargain basement steal.) The Séduction bottle's serpent motif — which represents wisdom, fertility and seduction — was inspired by the brand's serpent vase, which was originally created by French glass designer René Lalique. Quick history lesson: Lalique revolutionized the fragrance industry*.

But what's inside the super-luxe bottle, which retails for a whopping $1,800, you ask? A crisp floral scent, known as the Lalique de Lalique fragrance. Boasting top notes of jasmine and lush Bulgarian rose and hearts of piquant blackcurrant leaves and fresh pear, this classic springtime scent dries down surprisingly warm with soft wafts of vanilla and sandalwood. While the bottle screams bombastic boudoir, the scent itself isn't powdery or overpowering, despite its decadent price tag. That being said, it smells expensive: Like impeccably tended English gardens, European courtyards, and mysterious violet-tinged evenings — if such a blend could have a scent.

So, if, after reading all that, you're still dying to add the fragrance bottle to your crystal collection, there's a catch — you know, along with its exuberant price tag. Only 1,200 bottles of Lalique Séduction will be available to purchase, beginning this month at Lalique boutiques and Neiman Marcus stores. So, have your wallets savings account at the ready.
