"All are bound together by a love of choral music," the Master Chorale's website says.

"Platinum Jubilee: In Memorium" will feature music from the coronation of queen Elizabeth II.

"The concert had been planned long before the queen’s death in September," artistic director Michael Bennett said in a release. "But it seemed fitting to continue with the performance as a memorial to her 70-year reign as the monarch of the United Kingdom.

“For so many of us around the world, Queen Elizabeth II is the only British monarch we ever knew,” Bennett said. “It feels appropriate to celebrate her longevity with this beautiful music that is so identified with England."

In addition to feature music from the queen's coronation, "Platinum Jubilee" will also feature music from Byrd, Parry, Elgar, Vaughan Williams and other composers who known for British choral tradition, according to the Master Chorale.

The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 600 Ferry Street.

Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 at the door for adults, $10 for students and free for children under 18. Tickets are available at lafayettemasterchorale.org or by calling 765-429-5151.
