Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande Have Their Longest Hair Ever in the New "Rain on Me" Video

Spring doesn't even end until June 20, yet Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's new duet, "Rain on Me," is being called the song of the summer because of its incredible vocals and irresistible beat. And the single's new music video, which dropped on Friday, May 22, is arguably the video of the year — at least from a hair-appreciation standpoint.

Both Grande and Gaga wear a variety of hairstyles, with Gaga starting off in bangs and wet, pink layers that just barely reach past her shoulders. But don't let that first hairstyle fool you — the "Rain on Me" video is basically a tribute to super-long hair.

The first time we see Grande, she's wearing what may the highest version ever of her signature ponytail. Ironed into extreme straightness that lets you see her chunky highlights, the style is wrapped several inches tall at the base. And even with how lofty it is, the ends still come down past her waist.

As if it were a competition, Gaga's next hairstyle is even longer. Her now pink and silver hair is in straight pigtails that start from voluminous knots atop her head and end mid-thigh. She then switches to a high, half-up, purply ponytail with a face-framing tendril up front and butt-brushing length in the back. It's at this time that we get to see Grande sans ponytail, with her hair down in a rare, middle-parted look that's dark brown with the occasional blonde streak.

But the biggest moment for long-hair lovers comes at about two minutes and 11 seconds into the video. Grande and Gaga are seen from behind, holding hands as their seemingly endless hair blows around in flawless ripples.

Although the singers' hair is arguably the star of the "Rain on Me" video, we can't ignore the other beauty elements — especially the graphic makeup like Grande's gold and white eyeliner looks, and Gaga's streaks of crystal tears. Grande wears glossy lip colors throughout, while Gaga wears several dramatic long manicures like the black studded one she starts the song with.

Needless to say, it'll be hard for anyone to outdo both the song and the video's beauty looks this summer — and perhaps for the rest of the 2020.
