I lived in NYC from 2016 to 2019, and despite its famed ~charm~, that city was not for me. It was cold, claustrophobic, depressing, painfully expensive, and overall chaotic.

When I moved to Los Angeles, my life improved in a variety of ways — but I couldn't seem to escape the nagging comments from friends and foes about New York being the "superior city."

Today, I finally came up with a solution to get the LA haters off my back. I've created a list of LA landmarks that are pretty much identical to popular NYC destinations. New Yorkers will likely be offended, but what else is new?
1.Griffith Observatory is essentially a better version of the Empire State Building.
Top of Los Angeles? Check. Gorgeous view? Check. Telescopes? Check.
2.We ALSO have Prince Street Pizza now, so New Yorkers can no longer hold that above our heads.
3.Same with Joe's.
4.The Getty is The Met.
Petition for there to be a "Getty Gala!"
5.The Tar Pits are the American Museum of Natural History.
6.The Santa Monica Pier is Coney Island.
Except — I would argue — way prettier.
7.The beach is Central Park.
I think I'd choose the beach over the park any day.
8.Park La Brea is Stuy Town.
An enormous rental apartment complex that's super affordable...but there's sunshine year-round!
9.Rodeo Drive is Madison Avenue.
You want fancy? We got fancy.
10.The Walt Disney Concert Hall is Lincoln Center.
We've got orchestras, too!
11.The Hollywood Bowl is Madison Square Garden.
But the stadium is outdoors, which you can do in a city that never gets colder than 65 degrees :).
12.Hollywood Boulevard is Times Square.
If you want chaos, look no further than Hollywood Blvd.
13.Silver Lake and Echo Park are Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
A CALMER hipster feel.
14.Every other street is St. Mark's Place.
Oh, you get your weed from a dealer in St. Mark's Place? That's cute, but Los Angeles has a dispensary on every corner.
15.And finally, the 405 and the 101 are the subway (shut up).
What we lack in chronically delayed public transportation, we make up for in traffic.
