Kyrie Irving had some choice words for the media following his conversation with Kevin Durant during All-Star Weekend
Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving was less than thrilled about the media’s response to him and Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant’s conversation in the Spectrum Center during All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“It’s a video of me and one of my best friends talking,” Irving explained to reporters in Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon. “And then it turns out to be a dissection of a free-agency meeting? Do you get that? Like, do you get that? And then I’m asked questions about that? That’s what disconnects me from all that s**t.”

The clip in reference to Irving’s response is a now-viral video taken of him and Durant confidentially speaking in the hallway of the Charlotte Hornets’ home area. Their words are muffled, but prying fans were hellbent on deciphering what was exchanged between the two.
At one point, Irving held up two fingers, and many believed he was referencing a particular franchise having enough cap space for more than one max contract this offseason. From there, it didn’t take long for many to speculate the former Cleveland Cavalier was referring to the New York Knicks.

The former Duke Blue Devil continued chastising the media, wondering if he would receive similar treatment if he were an ordinary citizen.
“It’s my life, right?” Irving asked. “It’s two people talking, having a conversation. If this was the real world, would it be anybody else’s business? It’s a video of somebody assuming what we’re talking about, making an opinion about it, right? So, why would I care about it? Why does it have an impact on my life? Why are you asking me those type of questions?”
In spite of this, it certainly didn’t stop Twitter from putting a creative interpretation on their short powwow.
