Kylie Jenner Posted a Photo of Herself Holding a Mysterious New Beauty Product [Update]
UPDATE (3/2/18):
After a mid-month post showing Kylie Jenner modeling a new product — but giving no significant hints about what that product might be other than something that comes in a round container — Kylie Cosmetics let the clock run out on February without telling fans what they have to look forward to. March is a new month, however, and with it, we now know what the new product will be — and so many of the guesses were spot-on.
"Introducing NEW Kylie Setting Powders," reads the caption of the brand's March 1 Instagram post. "6 beautiful shades: Translucent, Soft Pink, Beige, Yellow, Dark and Deep Dark 💗 Velvety, smooth, weightless and gorgeous, our new all over loose powders effortlessly set your makeup, balance oils and provide a natural, skin-like finish."
The brand has also started sharing individual shots of the six shades, both in their jars and on models. So far, we've gotten a look at the Soft Pink shade in action, as well as the Dark shade, which Kylie Cosmetics calls "a rich cocoa shade perfect for all over setting or sculpting."
Fans are pretty thrilled with the reveal, even if they didn't guess correctly about what the product would be. "Not even gonna front. I want lol," one commenter confessed. "I'd love to get my hands on this 😍," another said, perhaps concerned that they would sell out as soon as they hit kyliecosmetics.com. Another wrote what many expressed: "ugh, can’t wait to try these!"
But they'll have to, at least for a little while: the Kylie Cosmetics Setting Powders launch on March 7.

Kylie Cosmetics has really been cranking out the new products at an impressive rate, and like so many times before, Kylie Jenner waited for the weekend to announce that a new launch is right around the corner. What that launch is, however, is shrouded in pastel secrecy. Is it a face powder? A moisturizer? An empty jar? No one knows — at least not yet.
On both Instagram and Twitter, Jenner wrote, "i can’t wait to launch a new product for @kyliecosmetics 😝 can you guess what it is?" Meanwhile, the Kylie Cosmetics accounts posted, "new product alert 🚨 coming soon! can you guess what it is? we can’t wait!" They apparently can wait, though, because the only hint they dropped is in the accompanying photo of Jenner. In it, she's seen wearing and surrounded by shades of pink: her makeup, her nails, her camisole, the wall, the surface she's leaning on — and the mystery product.
All we can see is that it's circular, with a logo-printed cap that's maybe three inches across. And as any avid beauty shopper knows, plenty of products can come in round packaging. So, needless to say, the comments on Instagram and replies on Twitter were filled with fans answering the challenge to guess what it is.
The most common guess is definitely a powder of some sort, and from the looks of the comments, it’s in high demand. "Please be baking powder 🙏🙏," one hopeful fan wrote, while another more intense fan commented with, "THAT BETTER BE A SETTING POWDER.” In just a few hours, several hundred people insisted, prayed, and demanded that it's powder. "Setting powder/ loose powder/ translucent powder bitchessss ❤️ finally URGHHH," another commenter shared.
Although loose powder appears to be the popular prediction, there were plenty of other hypotheses, from lotion to primer to hair products. Some fans really want it to be Kybrow, while others looked for covert clues in the photo. "Body highlighter look at her shoulders," one comment reads. "Dip powder for ya nails," reads another, referring to the way Jenner's manicured hand is gently touching the product. Some fans just threw all of their ideas on the table: "It could be a moisturizer, lip scrub, it could be foundation just in a different packaging,” one fan theorized, while another is clearly willing to buy anything Kylie Cosmetics comes out with, writing, "i wanted it to be mascara 😫😫 but whatever it is, i'm sure I'll love it."
The best guess, though, has to be from Draya Michele: “I hope it’s yogurt,” she commented on Jenner’s Instagram post. “I’m hungry!”
Kyogurt? Not a bad idea.
