Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian are already being mom-shamed — for two very different reasons

Kylie Jenner‘s daughter, Stormi Webster, is just weeks old, while Khloé Kardashian has yet to give birth to her first child, a boy. Yet both sisters have been getting grief over their parenting skills.

Jenner’s mommy shaming stems from a Feb. 27 People article, in which an unnamed source spoke about childcare help the 20-year-old beauty mogul is receiving.

“With the support and abilities she has to hire nannies and assistants, she’s been a really, really great mom,” the insider told the magazine, reinforcing an earlier report that Jenner had “hired some help” to care for Stormi, who was born Feb. 1.

The source added that Jenner is “incredibly doting and hands-on as a mom.” Though she’s far from the first celebrity or parent to seek assistance, her childcare situation has been met with scorn. Some have accused the reality star of “glorifying” being a young mother and creating “unrealistic expectations.”

Others did point out that Jenner shouldn’t be judged for having the financial resources to hire help.

Meanwhile, Jenner’s older half-sister caught flak for flying to Japan on Feb. 26 while eight months pregnant. Critics accused Kardashian, who is traveling with sisters Kim and Kourtney, of putting her baby’s health at risk by flying so close to her due date.

As some commenters have suggested, the expectant mothermost likely would have needed a doctor’s authorization to fly. According to the World Health Organization, a woman who has reached the 28th week of pregnancy must carry a letter from her doctor or midwife confirming the due date and a lack of pregnancy complications. A woman carrying one baby, as Kardashian is, can typically fly up to the end of the 36th week of pregnancy. Women carrying multiple babies must restrict air travel after week 32. Special consideration is taken if a pregnant woman has experienced complications or health issues, such as pre-eclampsia or high blood pressure.

Though Kardashian has described her first trimester as “painful,” if her pregnancy has been otherwise healthy and she’s still weeks away from her due date, her doctor no doubt would have signed off on the trip. Still: Who knew Twitter had so many medical experts?
